Not using Honda Jazz for many days? What all precautions to be taken?

In these unprecedented times, hope everyone is following social distancing guidelines and more importantly not stepping outside the home unless dire necessary. Please do not take COVID-19 for granted and assume it is ok to go down for a walk.

Take care of your vehicles in these times :
1. Start your vehicle once a week for 4-5 mins to avoid battery discharge.
2. Disconnect all possible accessories from USB and 12v/cigarette socket and ones connected to battery directly.
3. Park vehicles indoor. If not possible make sure to dust them regularly.
4. Open engine bay and make sure no rodents are staying there
5. Clean interiors and run fan to clean interior air. Place cotton swabs with peppermint or tea tree oils to keep air odor free.
6. Take vehicles off hand brake and keep them in 1st gear or Park mode (automatic vehicles). Best would be to keep in Neutral (manual) and use wood block or bricks to stop vehicle roll. Reason : Engaging the handbrake over an extended period can result in the brake pads getting stuck to the discs or drums. Needless to say, if this happens, you'll be in some trouble the next time you drive the car.
7. Move vehicle forward and rear once a while to make sure tyres and coils are healthy.

I usually hear people doing wheel balancing from external vendors. But remember the wheel balancing & alignment  is not just adjusting wheel based on road surface. this include adjustments based on the steering levels etc. And Honda has a  balancing mechanism based on the automated system. So recommended is doing it in Honda service centers.

1st paid service Honda Jazz recommendation

1st year paid service after 9,000kms. How much should this cost me approximately.?

It varies from 6500 to 9000 in Bangalore depending on the things included. If you opt for wheel alignment and balancing usually it goes around 8 to 9 thousands

After 1 year paid service of Honda jazz, what should be the frequency of next service?

Recommended is 6 months or 10,000 kilometers

Glass film for Jazz Recommendations

Is there any Jazz glass film recommendations?

 
Garware Icecool 70% for all Windows and quarter glass and 80% for windshield. Everything will cost around 7k. Same thing in 3M will cost 25k.

I put on windshield 20days back, very useful reducing heat very much. Llumnar Film I have used.

Showroom Service and Genuine Spare parts - Facts.

Guys, I am going to narrate an incident here which may cause some pain for all of us.

We all understand showroom service is best and we get all genuine parts there. Is this 100 % true? Recently I got to know that parts may be genuine but there are some culprits who can do bad for us.

Few days back I was talking to a friend who has a car from brand name starts with S. To avoid any issues and to not give pain for that brand guys, I dont want to disclose the brand name completely(I confirm this is not Honda). But remember, it can happen with any brands.

He mentioned one of his car spare part related to exhaust was gone 90% and it costs around 13,000 Rs in Authorised service centre. My friend had a known service person in Mysore based showroom and the service guy told, sir you pay me 500, I will replace one of the other cars spare while servicing and fix it for you. Friend agreed for that and he got it fixed for 500 bribe.

An unfortunate guy need to fix the same part in few kilometers now.

Think, this is completely not in our hand and unless we dont inspect each part daily, we cannot guarantee anything. So from next time if service guy asks to replace something, ensure to collect more details, and average duration or kilometers of that spare. We dont have much choices here.

1) Fogging on windscreen during rain + AC

Very tough to fix it. After usage of AC, you need to increase temperature and blow air towards glass, so that the vapors get away. This is one of the rare issue with other vehicle and seems like it happens in Jazz due to the aero dynamic body shape.

2) Pick up/ power issue on hills.

No fix for this. Jazz in all works with less power till rpm is 2000. So ove
r taking other vehicle in hurry/ easy driving on hills are bit tougher with Jazz.

3) Mileage:

Even though the company boasts big mileage, it actually doesnt seems like. Mileage gets improved after some service but not in a very big way.

4)Low quality Tyre:

The tyre provided with brand new Jazz is of average quality. It can break or edges can be cut any time. Also you cannot permanently use the spare tyre, bcz the diameter is of different size.

5) Low ground clearance:

This is known that majority of the humps are touching the Jazz under body. So need to be bit careful here.
